HARIANEXPRESS – The routine monthly gathering and arisan lottery of mothers in RT 07/09, Grogol Selatan, South Jakarta, on Saturday (4/7/2026), transformed into an impactful social care event benefiting local orphans and dhuafa.
The event, held at Bp. M. Sab’ih’s house on Jl. Rawa Simprug V, saw Ibu Suprihatin, the Arisan Chairwoman, along with her board and members, distribute aid. This initiative specifically targeted 13 orphans and 8 dhuafa who are all residents within RT 07.
The solemn event, which took place from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM WIB, gathered several local community figures. Among the attendees were Ibu Ningsih, Chairwoman of RT 07/09; Ibu Mas’amah, representative of LMK RW 09; Ibu Intan Nuraini, Jumantik Field Coordinator; and Ibu Siti Fatimah, Chairwoman of Dasawisma RW 09.
Ibu Ningsih, the RT 07/09 Chairwoman, explained that all funds for this activity came purely from community self-help. During each monthly arisan, members voluntarily contribute to a “kantong yatim” (orphan’s pouch) passed around during the event.
In addition to these arisan funds, the social action received financial support from several outside donors. These donors were moved by the consistent efforts of the RT 07/09 mothers’ group.
“Ini adalah wujud nyata kepedulian warga untuk warga. Kami ingin memastikan bahwa di lingkungan terdekat kita, anak-anak yatim dan saudara-saudara kita yang dhuafa tetap mendapatkan perhatian dan kasih sayang,” ujar Ibu Mas’amah.
The event was guided by Ibu Tarni as the MC, proceeding smoothly and with a strong sense of community. It commenced with a joint reading of Surat Yasin, led devoutly by Ibu Tarmi.
To conclude the evening, Ibu Mas’amah, representing LMK RW 09, led a prayer. She wished for blessings to flow to the donors and for the harmony of RT 07/09 Grogol Selatan residents to be continuously maintained.
This initiative by the Grogol Selatan RT 07/09 mothers exemplifies how social capital and community solidarity at the neighborhood level can serve as an effective social safety net amidst Jakarta’s dynamic metropolitan environment.
