HARIANEXPRESS – Kelompok Tani (Poktan) RW 09 Kelurahan Grogol Selatan successfully harvested hydroponic pokcoy and transplanted chili seedlings, strengthening local food security on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The community initiative, which focused on urban farming, involved residents and various regional administrators in a collaborative “silih-tanam” and harvesting event. These activities were centered at the “Gang Hijau RW 09” location, specifically at the residence of Bapak Tony Susanto in Gang Rawa Simprug VII, RT 05 RW 09, Grogol Selatan.
This particular site is recognized as a prime example of effective narrow land utilization within the South Jakarta area.
The Poktan RW 09’s efforts included two primary agendas carried out cooperatively. The first agenda commenced with the transplanting of chili plant seedlings into larger growing media.
This strategic move aims to ensure a consistent supply of this inflation-triggering commodity for households.
After preparing the chili plant installations, cadres and regional officials transitioned to the hydroponic setup. Here, they collectively harvested hydroponic pokcoy vegetables, yielding a total of 1.6 kilograms of fresh produce.
These fresh vegetables are immediately ready for consumption by the community.
The green initiative saw the direct participation of Chairman RW 09 Bapak Pariyo, LMK 09 Ibu Mas’amah, and Ibu RW 09. The core driving force behind the activities was the collaboration of various cadres.
This included PKK Cadres Ibu Tuti Hastuti, Ibu Intan Nuraini, and Ibu Juma, along with Dasawisma Cadres Ibu Tari, Ibu Murni, and Ibu Ida Farida.
Further support for the event came from Chairman RT 09 Ibu Rosadah, Chairman RT 12 Bapak Fauzan, Bapak Tejo, and Riska, representing the local youth. Ibu Mas’amah, LMK 09, emphasized the collective spirit of the residents during the day’s activities, stating:
“Hari ini menjadi bukti nyata kekompakan warga. Bersama-sama kita melakukan pindah tanam pohon cabai, dan di saat yang sama langsung memetik hasil lewat panen hidroponik pokcoy. Sistem hidroponik ini sangat membantu warga mendapatkan sayuran segar yang sehat dan efisien tempat,” ujarnya.

The achievements of “Gang Hijau RW 09” in Grogol Selatan underline that limited land in a megacity like Jakarta does not impede productive initiatives. The consistent involvement of PKK and Dasawisma Cadres has been pivotal for maintaining the plants, from initial seeding through to harvest.
Through robust synergy among RT and RW administrators, LMK, and cadres, this project is envisioned to do more than just ensure family nutritional self-sufficiency. It also aims to inspire other RWs across DKI Jakarta to adopt and replicate the hydroponic-based “Gang Hijau” concept.
This replication is intended to foster more verdant and self-reliant urban environments throughout the capital.
