HARIANEXPRESS – Indonesia’s House of Representatives met with TikTok and Tokopedia on Tuesday to address frozen funds belonging to micro, small and medium enterprises selling through TikTok Shop, with a follow-up planned next week. (Tuesday, 7/9/2026)

Commission VII Deputy Chair Evita Nursanty stated that several sellers complained on July 2 that TikTok Shop had withheld business balances worth billions of rupiah without clear justification. Nursanty explained that the hearing sought clarification and a resolution rather than to determine legal liability.

Tokopedia and TikTok Shop Indonesia Executive Director Stephanie Susilo reported that the company investigated 217 affected accounts involving about Rp24 billion, or roughly US$1.36 million. Susilo noted that Rp16.7 billion, or about US$946,440, was linked to verified fraud.

The House plans to hold a follow-up meeting next week to monitor progress toward resolving the dispute.
