HARIANEXPRESS, JAWA BARAT – West Java has reported the highest number of human trafficking (TPPO) cases in Indonesia, based on data from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).

This significant announcement was made by Antonius Prijaji Soesilo Wibowo, Vice Chairman of LPSK, during a press conference held at the agency’s office in Jakarta on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The data on TPPO victim protection applications consistently shows West Java as the region with the most cases.

West Java Dominates Human Trafficking Cases According to LPSK

LPSK data indicates that West Java leads the national list for human trafficking cases. Following West Java, other regions with a high incidence of cases include Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).

East Java (Jatim) and Central Java (Jateng) also registered significant figures in the LPSK report, ranking consecutively after NTT. These provinces collectively account for a substantial portion of the protection requests received by the agency.

LPSK Data Specific to Protection Requests

Antonius clarified that the data compiled by LPSK specifically includes all protection applications received by the agency. He openly acknowledged that these figures might differ from records maintained by other ministries or institutions involved in handling TPPO victim protection in Indonesia.

“Dari data permohonan perlindungan seperti itu, kita mencatat bahwa daerah asal tertinggi itu masih dipegang oleh Provinsi Jawa Barat,” Ujar Antonius Prijaji Soesilo Wibowo.

The trend in protection applications to LPSK reveals a total of 576 applications related to TPPO cases in 2024. This number experienced a slight decrease the following year.

In 2025, LPSK recorded 554 protection applications. This trend highlights the ongoing demand for victim protection services related to human trafficking across Indonesia.
