HARIANEXPRESS – Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kediri are recognizing digital payment technology as a crucial factor for market expansion. This adaptation is essential to meet contemporary customer demands for fast and simple transactions.
Two entrepreneurs, Yayuk Sri Rahayu and Duwi Sugiharti, exemplify this trend by integrating digital wallets into their business models. They have successfully combined product sustainability with practical digital transactions, notably using ShopeePay, to enhance their business reach.
Yayuk Sri Rahayu, 50, founder of the ecoprint fashion brand Swarnabhumi, based in Nganjuk, East Java, highlights the competitive landscape. She stated, “Competition is getting tighter, so we have to adapt to customer habits. Now customers want it fast and simple. With ShopeePay, the payment process in online stores is much smoother, no need for manual transfers.”
Rahayu’s journey began in 2015 with zero-waste agriculture, transforming straw into animal feed and animal waste into biogas. This commitment to sustainability extended to her ecoprint fashion line, which she started in 2017.
She utilizes various local plants like teak leaves, ketapang, eucalyptus, and kenikir flowers, many of which she cultivates or sources from local women farmers. Her focus on natural materials aligns with a growing market for sustainable products.
Duwi Sugiharti, 42, owner of the craft brand D’Craft, shares a similar positive experience. She noted that digital wallet services like ShopeePay provide convenience for customers, whether for online transactions or QRIS payments at bazaars and exhibitions.
The integration of digital payment methods has proven beneficial for both entrepreneurs, streamlining operations and making transactions more accessible. This shift allows Kediri’s MSMEs to tap into broader markets and simplify the purchasing process for their clientele.
