HARIANEXPRESS – The Blitar Regency Social Service, with widespread community support, dispatched 200 kilograms of its signature pecel chili sauce to aid earthquake victims in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), Tuesday (25/8/2026).
The production of this traditional chili sauce occurred over two days, from Sunday to Monday (August 23–24, 2026), at the Blitar Regency Social Service office. This initiative reflects both community care and an effort to introduce Blitar’s characteristic product within humanitarian assistance efforts.
Various community groups and agencies participated in this collaborative endeavor. These included Taruna Siaga Bencana (TAGANA), Pelopor Perdamaian (Pordam), Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), Baznas Kabupaten Blitar, Laskar Peduli Kasih, and the Blitar Regency Social Service. The 200 kilograms of pecel sauce were subsequently sent to the Aid Reception Post located at the Blitar Regent’s Office in Kanigoro District.
“We want to provide support to NTT earthquake survivors not only in the form of essential aid but also by bringing the distinctive flavor of Blitar through pecel chili sauce, a product of our collective cooperation,” said Mikhael Hankam Indoro (Head of Blitar Regency Social Service).
Hankam explained that the process encompassed the preparation of personnel, equipment, and raw materials, followed by the production and packaging of the chili sauce. The active involvement of diverse groups in this activity underscores the strong spirit of mutual cooperation within the Blitar community.
This unique Blitar pecel sauce is expected to serve as a vital part of the humanitarian support for NTT earthquake survivors. It also aims to convey a message of profound solidarity from the people of Blitar to their fellow Indonesians impacted by the disaster.
“Our hope is that this can help and be part of the humanitarian support for earthquake survivors in NTT,” Hankam added.
