HARIANEXPRESS – The Tulungagung Regency Government, through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), conducted a market operation in Domasan Village, Kalidawir District, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
This initiative aimed to stabilize the prices of basic necessities and support efforts to control inflation within Tulungagung Regency.
The market operation provided various essential goods at prices more affordable than those found in traditional markets.
Commodities offered included SPHP rice at Rp55,000 per package, Minyakita cooking oil at Rp15,000 per liter, eggs at Rp21,000 per kilogram, and granulated sugar at Rp16,100 per kilogram.
Domasan Village was specifically chosen for the operation based on analytical data indicating it is a village facing stunting issues.
Providing affordable basic necessities in this area is expected to directly assist families in meeting their nutritional needs.
Community enthusiasm was evident, with many residents attending to purchase the essential goods.
The lower prices compared to market rates proved to be a significant draw for the public.
Agus Murdoko, a Trade Analyst representing the Head of the Tulungagung Regency Department of Industry and Trade, highlighted the government’s role in supporting the community and maintaining price stability through this operation.
“Tujuan utama operasi pasar ini adalah untuk menstabilkan harga kebutuhan pokok dan dalam rangka pengendalian inflasi daerah. Harga yang kami hadirkan memang diupayakan berada di bawah harga pasaran, sehingga masyarakat bisa memenuhi kebutuhan pokok dengan harga yang lebih terjangkau,” ujar Agus.
Agus further explained that the location selection was informed by community condition studies and analyses.
Domasan Village was chosen because existing data identified it as having stunting problems, thus making the activity directly beneficial to the community.
He affirmed that the Tulungagung Regency Government, via Disperindag, is committed to ensuring the availability and affordability of basic necessities for residents.
This market operation represents a strategic measure by the Tulungagung Regency Government to uphold the community’s purchasing power.
By making essential goods more accessible, the burden of fluctuating food commodity prices on the public is expected to decrease.
The activity also demonstrates local government synergy in maintaining economic stability, especially in ensuring controlled food prices and adequate access to basic necessities for the community.
Through targeted and data-driven market operations, the government aims for the benefits to reach those in need, simultaneously serving as an instrument for price stability and inflation control in Tulungagung Regency.
