HARIANEXPRESS – A 1,200-kilometer cross-island tour by Mini Cooper owners from Jakarta to Bali significantly boosted local economies in the hospitality, restaurant, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) sectors.
This extensive journey, themed “1,200 KM Touring Mini Cooper Owners Menuju Pulau Dewata,” generated substantial positive economic activity. The event also served as part of the celebrations for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day and promoted road safety awareness.
“The presence of these friends provides significant impact and benefits for Bali’s tourism world. From the hotel sector, restaurants, to local MSMEs, all have experienced positive economic rotation from the organization of this touring,” ujar Dendi Satrio (Captain Mini Cooper Bali Community sekaligus pimpinan touring).
The tour, organized by the Mini Cooper owners community, ran from July 31 to August 3, 2026. Upon reaching Pulau Dewata, the convoy received a warm welcome from the Mini Cooper Bali Community.
Activities on the first day, Saturday, August 1, 2026, included over 30 Mini Cooper units visiting Kebon Vintage Car. Here, participants fostered camaraderie with Jos Dharmawan, Chairman of the Indonesian Ancient Car Enthusiasts Association (PPMKI), and exchanged a collaboration plaque for “Touring Mini Bali X Mini INC.”
Brigjen Putu Putera Sadana, Head of BNN Bali, also attended the event, offering guidance on the importance of campaigning against narcotics (No Drugs) and maintaining community solidarity. This aims to ensure a positive impact on society. Participants later visited Tuksedo Studio in Gianyar to observe the classic replica car manufacturing process with owners Pudji Handoko and Laksmana Gusti Handoko.
On the second day, Sunday, August 2, 2026, participants departed from the IMI Bali Office at Nexx Showroom. They were personally welcomed by Ajik Krisna, Chairman of IMI Bali, where Dendi Satrio symbolically handed over a plaque and touring attributes.
The event successfully demonstrated how large-scale automotive tourism can provide significant multiplier effects for regional economies. It united automotive enthusiasts while contributing to local development and public awareness campaigns.
