HARIANEXPRESS – The newly constructed building of the Integrated People’s School (SR) 1 Kabupaten Tuban is now in use for its School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) program. A total of 256 students, spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels, including 60 students from Kabupaten Bojonegoro, are participating in the program.

This institution provides a wide array of facilities completely free of charge. These include school buildings from elementary to high school, comfortable student dormitories, a canteen, computer labs, a library, and sports fields.

High-Quality Facilities and Program Details

Vera Khairun Nissa, Head of the Integrated People’s School 1 Kabupaten Tuban, stated that the available facilities are of excellent quality. She added that many of these facilities are child-friendly, supporting student development and progress.

“This will hopefully be very beneficial for the children, utilized to increase students’ motivation to achieve more,” Vera said.

The MPLS program is scheduled to continue until August 25, 2026. Following this, students will engage in a matriculation program before regular classes commence on August 31, 2026.

To assist students in adapting to the boarding school environment, the MPLS is structured into four distinct phases. These phases cover adaptation to the school environment, character and discipline building, academic introduction, and a concluding phase focused on developing student potential and creativity.

During the pre-MPLS phase, which ran from July 31 to August 2, 2026, all new students underwent a Free Health Check (CKG) on August 1, 2026. This was facilitated by the Health Office and Community Health Centers in Tuban Regency.

“Then, students will participate in a physical readiness and character strengthening phase which includes material on national defense, self-reliance, discipline, and national insight,” Vera added.

These activities involve elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and a program with the Police Academy’s Bakti Taruna and Taruni. Students will also receive training in literacy and numeracy, digital literacy, bullying prevention, drug abuse prevention, the dangers of online gambling, and student protection. The MPLS series concludes with an event called “Gerbang Cahaya Masa Depan,” showcasing student creativity and potential.

Student and Parent Testimonials

Sofia, a new high school student at Integrated People’s School 1 Kabupaten Tuban, expressed her comfort in the new building during MPLS. She finds the facilities comprehensive and adequate for learning.

“I’m happy to be able to go to school here, the facilities are indeed adequate and very, very good. As a less fortunate family, we are greatly helped by this school program,” said Sofia, a graduate of SMP Negeri Merakurak.

She acknowledged that as a child from an underprivileged family, this flagship program initiated by President Prabowo greatly assists children like her in continuing to higher education. M. Rofinha, Sofia’s father, echoed this sentiment, noting that due to financial constraints, he and other parents from his generation could not pursue higher education, with some not even completing elementary school.

“I didn’t even graduate from elementary school, it’s likely that if there wasn’t a government program like this people’s school, my child would have dropped out and couldn’t continue to high school,” Sofia’s father stated.

Official Appreciation and Government Support

Separately, Tuban Regent, Aditya Halindra Faridzky, extended his appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto for establishing the People’s School program in Tuban Regency during the Open House and MPLS opening. The Regent, affectionately known as Mas Lindra, highlighted presidential directives regarding collaborations.

“During the school environment introduction period, there were presidential directives for the People’s School to collaborate with the Military Academy and Police Academy to help students adapt to boarding life, especially regarding discipline and rules,” Mas Lindra explained.

He further noted that students receive free educational facilities and daily necessities covered by the state throughout their time at the People’s School. This includes clothing, three daily meals, and additional snacks.

“This means that the President is not only improving education but also improving nutrition,” Mas Lindra concluded.
