HARIANEXPRESS – The DPRD Kabupaten Blitar conducted a plenary session on Friday, August 14, 2026, to listen to the State Address by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
This special session was part of the preparations for welcoming the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The event underlined the commitment to ensuring that regional development serves the interests and welfare of the community.
DPRD Kabupaten Blitar Emphasizes People-Centric Development
The plenary session, held at the DPRD Kabupaten Blitar, was led by the Chairman of DPRD Kabupaten Blitar, Supriyadi. Attendees included elements of Forkopimda, officials from the Blitar Regency Government, and members of the DPRD Kabupaten Blitar.
Supriyadi highlighted that the commemoration of independence should extend beyond mere annual ceremonies. He emphasized that the 81 years of Indonesia’s independence must serve as a reminder for all government administrators to pursue the aspirations of the nation’s founders through development that benefits society.
“The spirit of independence must be translated into real work. Development must ultimately side with the community and provide the greatest benefits for the welfare of the people,” Supriyadi stated.
President’s Address and National Theme
The plenary session continued with the listening of President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address during the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI in 2026. The President outlined several directions for national development in his speech.
Supriyadi also noted that the theme for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” (Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia), carries a strong message regarding the direction of national development. He explained that sovereignty must be accompanied by equitable development, social justice, and an improved quality of life for the community.
“The theme Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur reminds us that independence has a greater goal, namely to bring justice and welfare to all people,” he added.
This event reaffirmed the commitment of local legislative bodies to align with national goals, focusing on the welfare and justice of the people in their development initiatives. The emphasis on practical work and beneficial development reflects the ongoing efforts to realize the ideals of independence.
