HARIANEXPRESS, BLITAR – Askab PSSI Blitar Regency is finalizing its team preparations for the U-17 Soeratin Cup Jatim tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The upcoming youth football competition will take place at the Gelora Penataran Nglegok Stadium, situated in Kabupaten Blitar, East Java. Prianto Akbar, the Vice Chairman of the Blitar Regency Football Association (Askab PSSI), reported that the team’s readiness is currently at a commendable 70 percent.
Prianto underscored that securing host status presents a unique opportunity for PSBI Blitar U-17 to demonstrate its full capabilities and ensure the successful execution of the East Java U-17 Soeratin Cup. He further noted that Group L is expected to feature intense competition among its participants.
PSBI Blitar U-17, as the host, is set to compete against formidable opponents including Arema FC U-17, Persekam, Perseta 1970 U-17, and Akor FC U-17. All these teams are targeting advancement to the next phase of the tournament, making for a challenging group stage.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God) the team’s preparations are in line with our expectations. The committee’s preparations are also 70 percent ready; only the finishing touches remain,” stated Prianto.
This specific age group competition is designed for players up to 17 years old, with the majority of athletes being around 16 years of age. Consequently, attendance at the matches is anticipated to be predominantly comprised of family members and guardians of the participating players.
Askab PSSI Kabupaten Blitar expresses its strong hope that all tournament matches will proceed safely and in an orderly manner. The organization views this event as a vital platform for the comprehensive development and nurturing of young football talents.
Prianto affirmed that the organizing committee is diligently addressing various technical and non-technical requirements to ensure a smooth execution of the games. Continuous coordination efforts are being maintained with all involved committee members.
Moreover, the necessary permits for the event’s operation have been successfully obtained from Polres Blitar Kota. This crucial approval signifies that the preparatory stages are now entering their conclusive phase.
