    Prabowo in Netherland

AMSTERDAM, HARIANEXPRESS.COM - President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam on Thursday (September 25, 2025) for a state visit that includes a meeting with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding strategic cooperation.

According to a statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo is officially scheduled to be welcomed by King Willem-Alexander at the Huis ten Bosch Palace later during his visit.

At the airport, Prabowo received a warm ceremonial reception. Lieutenant Colonel Joël Postma, aide-de-camp to the Dutch King, and Bob Aal from the Protocol and House Country Department of the Dutch Foreign Ministry were on hand to greet him. Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mayerfas, and Defense Attaché Rikrik Permadi Sobana also attended the arrival.

The welcoming honors included a guard of honor: two guards positioned at the aircraft’s steps and eight more along the red carpet leading to the presidential vehicle. The President then boarded a long Cadillac limousine, reserved for state visits and typically kept at the Royal Stables in the Noordeinde Palace complex in The Hague. The use of this vehicle underscores the high regard accorded to President Prabowo’s visit, the Secretariat noted.

Prabowo had earlier concluded a series of state engagements in Canada before departing from Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport. Accompanying him on the flight to Amsterdam was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The meeting with the Dutch monarch is expected to pave the way for broader strategic cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and defense sectors between Indonesia and the Netherlands.
